Baja Whales

Baja Whale Watching.

by on Apr.18, 2011, under Baja Whales, Wildlife

We had high hopes for the trip to Baja, travelling from San Diego and down the Baja Peninsula and into the Sea Of Cortez whale watching.
The trip was organised through Naturetrek and we travelled on The Searcher, who had a fantatic crew aboard.

In all our expectations were far exceeded. Cruising about 1,200 miles we saw many species of whale, breaching humpbacks and 18 Blue Whales.
We walked around unihabited islands and amongst Elephant Seals and snorkled with the Sea Lions.
Highlight however were the Grey Whales in Ignacia Lagoon where they come right up to the boat and love you giving them a good scratch.
Utterly, utterly wonderful.
I will be adding some new pictures from the trip soon, but please enjoy this short video I made from our pictures for now.
