COMET ISON C/2012 S1 – 5th March 2013

by on , under Astronomy Blog

Comet PANSTARRS C/2011 L4 might be just about to thrill us (or not!) in the coming weeks, but Comet ISON C/2012 S1 is slowly heading our way. At 15th magnitude it is almost as far away from the Sun as Jupiter at the moment.

So I thought I would try imaging it using my DMK camera through the 190mm Mak-Newt.

This is a combination of 59 one minute exposures.

It already looks like it’s showing a bit of a tail.
